Empty Vials

Glass vaccine vials, cotton thread
Variable
I found a thousand unused vaccine vials at the Center for Adaptive Reuse in Oakland. One day I was compelled to start stringing them together with thread. When I first created this piece, I felt that the consecutive jars reminded me of empty machine gun casings. I was saddened by the war of the day. In light of Covid 19, this piece has a new meaning. Through it all we are still hanging on by a thread.
