As an Artist my path of experimentation stems from a proclivity for eclecticism, irony, parody, and the self referential. My unique perception of nature influences every thing I do. With Nature as my muse the forms I make are biomorphic, evoking a synthesis of imagination and feeling. I exploit the possibilities of play and improvisation creating an ambiguous coexistence of subtlety and surprise. My proficiency in a variety of media has developed through ceaseless experimentation. Using various media: metal, wood, plaster, glass, carving, casting, jewelry, sewing, weaving, printmaking, painting, drawing, assemblage, and installation. This provides me with a large vocabulary upon which to draw in my work. My approach to creating art allows chance to play a vital role. My work exists as a fusion of seemingly incompatible elements through aesthetic play. I was raised in a household full of music, art, dance, literature, and science. I believe that art and science hold many similarities. Experimentation, asking, “What If?” to further the process is key to both endeavors.
